“How to build the foundation of a successful team“ :- Part 4- Continuous evaluation and appraisal.

In business everyone has several customers. Your boss , peers , are all your customers as they depend on you to do your job. As a leader your staff is also your customer. So you need to constantly evaluate and praise your team members, and following are the ways to do it:-

Establish a clear base line- Level that you expect your team to operate at.

Quantify what success means for your team, what accomplishment you would consider successful. Otherwise it will be hard to know if your team is on track.

To feel fully satisfied and competent, employees need to feel that they are valued and are producing good work. Letting employees know that you are aware of the good work they're doing will help you retain hard working staff. Set new goals- Setting achievable targets during the appraisal help to motivate employees and it is also a useful occasion to realign business objectives with changing market conditions.

It also helps resolve grievances & strengthen bonds.

Appraisals can also help communicate your vision to team members and ensure that everyone is singing from the same hymn page. Doing that once a year is not enough.
